ENDURANCE PLEASURE RIDE (EPR)

1. Recreation & education – no competition. The goal is to finish safely with a healthy, happy horse.
​
2. Time window ride – too fast = elimination (FTQ), too slow = elimination (FTQ). Recommended pace: 8–12 km/h.
3. Simplified educational vet gate – HR ≤ 64/min, soundness, general condition. Focus on learning and welfare.
4. Short distances – LL ~10 km, L ~21 km. Technical but beginner-friendly trails.
5. No licence required – unless the rider wants Ranking points.
6. Sticks tack regulations - such equipment is not recommended, but final choice is left to the rider (though natural riding is encouraged).
7. Recreational courses – shorter, accessible, yet interesting and technical enough for learning.
Open to everyone – leisure riders, beginners, juniors, adults.

SPORT ENDURANCE (NF/FEI)

1. Sport competition – results, speed and ranking matter; riders aim for progression, qualifications and performance.

2. Speed and time decide the result – no upper speed limit in 1*, 2*, 3* classes; the fastest rider wins.
Performance pressure is inherent to the discipline.

3. Advanced veterinary checks – multi-stage metabolic control, heart rate, hydration, soundness, recovery time.
​
4. Long distances – 10–160 km in FEI classes; high demands on fitness and strategy.
​
5. Licences required – both rider and horse must hold federation licences and qualifications.
​
6. Strict tack regulations – whips, spurs, draw reins forbidden.
​
7. Sport-level courses – long, selective, technically demanding terrain.
Mainly sport riders with competition experience.
